HYDROSEEDING CT MAINTENANCE & CARE:

How do you care for the hydro seeds?

Germination can start in some areas in just 10-14 days. A lawn is ready to mow after 6-8 weeks when there is adequate growth. The lawn will fully develop in 6-9 months.

In the initial six weeks, stay clear of traffic in areas that are planted.

Some areas will do better than others due to various amounts of sunlight or shade, as well as water. This is typical for all hydroseeding applications. If the lawn begins to fill in after around 4-5 weeks, it's a good idea to scrub the areas that are thin and then seed some of them with a hand to encourage growth. For the best results, mix fescue, Rye as well as Kentucky bluegrass.

You should apply an 18-24-12 starter fertilizer to your lawn about two weeks after we hydroseed it. The second application of fertilizer is possible within three weeks of the application. In the initial 10-12 weeks, don't use any weed control on the lawn.

There are a variety of weeds that can grow in your lawn. They can be controlled with an herbicide once the lawn is mature.

About 5 weeks after the lawn was hydroseeded, the first mowing is scheduled for. It is best to cut the grass once it's dry, using a push mower. This will avoid the seedlings from being damaged. It is important to allow the soil to dry completely before beginning to mow. It is okay to leave the clippings on the lawn, but do not leave them in the lawn since they could damage the seeds.

Do not let the lawn increase in height to an excessive level. Following this, you need to cut the grass back to a normal height. This could harm your lawn and make it difficult to restore its original condition. You can hire someone to trim your lawn for you if you're going on vacation or won't be able to mow it for longer than an entire week. Don't cut your lawn for more than 1/3 of its height in one mowing. It is best to wait for 4-5 weeks before you reduce it to around 3".

If your Hydroseeding CT becomes flooded due to storms or other weather conditions, we will return to regenerate the area at half the price of the initial cost.
